At the end of every school year, teachers clean out their classrooms for the summer. With all this cleaning activity, the F. A.Day garbage dumpster is frequently full and overflowing with garbage bags and littered with trash.

Although the dumpster is supposed to be emptied daily, its capacity is frequently overwhelmed. According to the senior custodian, “They are supposedly emptied everyday.”

Since the dumpster and the recycling dumpster have been placed near the entrance to the school, an area of high visibility to the general public, negative comments are frequent.

“There should be more dumpsters, so it looks less ugly. I also think that people should recycle more,” says a student.
